I was torn between this JLC, or the Master Ultra Thin Date in SS that was recently released. .

Both are quality watches but just serve very different purposes. So if you define quality as the ability to keep moving through adverse conditions, then Rolex. I am struggling with adding it and if I would get bored of it or not. That price tag put it in competition with high-end time-only watches like the Rolex DateJust and Omega Aqua Terra, which are the kinds of all-purpose, all-around watches that, if you have the money, are great day-to-day wrist wear. I have two JLCs, an Master Control Chronograph (Q1538420), and an Grand Revereso GMT. They are both excellent in so many ways, reliable, robust with great timing stability. Having said, compared them with Rolex Daytona and Sub (with no date), my experience still suggests that modern Rolexes, in general, have better time precision/accuracy.
